Welcome to Utter — a WhatsApp Business platform that helps you message customers using the official WhatsApp Business API.
This guide is for business owners and team members who want to set up Utter. You do not need technical or developer knowledge.
What you will do
Onboarding has a few simple steps:

| 2. Eligibility check | Confirm you have what Meta needs (documents, phone, Facebook access) |
| 3. Connect with Meta | Log in with Facebook/Meta and share your business & WhatsApp details |
| 4. Verification | Meta reviews your business registration, Meta account, and phone number |
Why Meta is involved
WhatsApp Business API is owned by Meta (Facebook). To send WhatsApp messages through Utter, Meta must:
- Confirm you own the business
- Confirm the phone number for WhatsApp
- Link a WhatsApp Business Account to Utter
When you click Continue with Meta, a secure Meta window opens inside your browser. You enter your business information there. Utter then shows you whether verification succeeded.
How long it takes
- Utter signup + eligibility + Meta connect: about 10 minutes if documents and a free phone number are ready
- Meta verification: can be quick, or take longer if Meta needs manual review
What to prepare before you start
Complete the Onboarding Prerequisites first:
- Business documents
- Business email
- Eligible phone number
- Facebook / Meta admin access
- Website or public presence
