Business email
During Meta business verification, you often must confirm you are connected to the business using email (or phone / domain).
Best practice
Use a company email on the same domain as your website:
| Good | Riskier |
|---|---|
[email protected] | Only a free personal Gmail/Yahoo with no link to the business |
[email protected] matching https://brand.com | Email domain completely unrelated to the website |
Meta may send a confirmation code to that email. You must be able to open the inbox and enter the code.
Also useful for Utter
- Use a work email when you create your Utter account
- Keep access to that inbox for verification and support messages
If you only have a personal email
You can still try onboarding, but Meta may ask you to:
- Verify via phone or domain instead, or
- Prove ownership with stronger documents
Setting up email on your domain (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, hosting email, etc.) usually makes verification smoother.
